Corporate hospitality with
a commitment to charity

At Gala, we believe in giving back. As a standard-bearer for UK corporate hospitality, we’re committed to supporting those who need it most.

Gala is honoured to be a supporter of Cure Leukaemia, and proud to make a small contribution to their vital work. Meanwhile, as UK leaders in sports hospitality, we’re pleased to be helping a new generation of young British sportspeople break through with our support for the Truro Fencing Club’s Gold scheme and also for AFC St Blazey’s youth football team.

    Cure Leukaemia

Cure Leukaemia help connect blood cancer patients, that have exhausted standard treatments for the disease, with pioneering and potentially life-saving drugs through clinical trials. The charity fund specialist research nurses in the Midlands and across the UK to run these lifesaving trials. Only by funding more nurses in hospitals, can more blood cancer patients benefit from access to potentially life-saving treatment.

Cure Leukaemia CEO James McLaughlin said: “We are immensely grateful for the support Gala Events have given the charity in recent years. In 2017, thanks to their support, we were able to raise an additional £1m to help fund the £3.4m expansion of the world renowned Centre for Clinical Haematology at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham. The Centre, which reopened in January 2018, now has double its capacity for blood cancer patients treated, clinical trials opened and research nurses employed. We look forward to continuing our partnership with Gala Events to give patients hope and hasten global progress towards eradicating all forms of blood cancer within 25 years.”

    Truro Fencing Club

With four Olympians, seven British champions and 33 GB squad members at Senior, U20 and U17 level, Truro Fencing Club is a springboard for homegrown talent. Gala is proud to support the Gold scheme, giving budding fencers financial support to compete.

William George (Director)

William has significant business experience, having run his own print, marketing and advertising businesses over the last 40 years. This included running the marketing campaigns for the famous Aberystwyth Cliff Railway and organising Marketing and Sales advice seminars for many UK businesses. William is a member of the Warwickshire Cricket Board, plays regular golf, is a school governor and enjoys spending time with his family and friends.

Craig Overton (Ambassador)

An up-and-coming star of English cricket, Craig made his debut for Somerset in 2012 when barely 18. With over 200 First Class scalps to his name, and a batting average in the twenties, he was Somerset’s leading wicket-taker in 2015. Craig made his maiden First Class century in 2016, scoring 138 against Hampshire, and another excellent season last summer saw him add to his burgeoning reputation with 46 scalps at 22.39, and useful knocks lower down the order. It was no surprise when England came calling, and Craig made his Test debut in the Second Test of the recent Ashes series. His very first Test wicket was none other than talismanic Aussie captain Steve Smith, finishing top bowler with 3-105 in Australia’s first innings, then top-scoring in England’s first innings with 44! After featuring in the next Test, he sadly picked up an injury which kept him out of the rest of the Series. Craig looks to have a promising future with the England team!
