Gala Events is proud to have a cracking line-up of sport stars at our events in the run-up to Christmas. Rather than dancing round the handbags and the usual Turkey and Christmas pud, why not come along for a celebration to remember.
Kicking off on the 21st November with our partners Cornish Sporting Club, we are delighted to be hosting a Sporting Dinner in Truro at the Cornwall Cricket Centre. Our speakers for the evening include former Arsenal and Wales striker and current pundit John Hartson, and two of England’s 2005 Ashes winning heroes, Steve Harmison and Geraint Jones. John is making quite a name for himself as an insightful pundit on BBC and SKY Sports, as fearless and gifted of the pitch as he was on it when he was banging them in at Highbury. Terrifying fast bowler Steve may have quietened down a bit now, but struck fear into the hearts of the world’s best batsmen during his pomp, whilst Geraint made numerous telling contributions in the ‘greatest ever series’, not least when brilliantly catching Mike Kasprowicz off the bowling of Harmy to win the 2nd Test at Edgbaston by just two runs.
John Hartson will be packing his bags and heading up to the Midlands a few days later to join two equally terrifying former footballer in the intimidating shapes of Stuart Pearce and Julian Dicks, for our Evening with the Football Hard Men, which takes place at Edgbaston on Thursday 21st November. The three terrors will be sharing juicy anecdotes about their respective careers, featuring bone-crunching challenges, off-the-ball antics and thunderbolt shooting, with all three of our stars having an eye for the spectacular goal or three. Stuart Pearce is a bona fide legend of the English game, having served with distinction at his beloved Nottingham Forest, collecting a superb 79 caps for his country along the way as the world’s most formidable left back. Julian Dicks is similarly hero-worshipped at West Ham, where his ability with the dead ball was almost as feared as his strength in the tackle. It should be an evening to remember!
Moving seemlessly into the world of boxing on Saturday 29th November, Gala Events is proud to be an official hospitalty provider at the much anticipated Heavyweight rematch and World Title Eliminator between Tyson Fury and bitter rival Deryck Chisora. As well as top tickets to the big fight, guests will enjoy a pre-fight Dinner and complimenary bar, with the event being hosted by a leading boxing compere, with a very special former World Champion guest speaker.
Finally, on Friday 5th December our ‘Lunch with a Legend‘ series continues with former Liverpool, Celtic and Scotland all-time great Kenny Dalglish as our star guest. As well as being voted the greatest player ever to wear the famous red shirt at Anfield, ‘King Kenny’ remains the last Liverpool manager to win the League Title, and forever will hold a special place in the hearts of the Kop faithful. This stunniong event will take place at a very special venue, 195 Piccadilly, the home of BAFTA. Not only will you be in the company of one of the greatest players of all time, but you will also be in the same building that has hosted some of the biggest stars of the silver screen and TV. This is truly an occasion not to be missed.
