Join us in the Banqueting Suite at Edgbaston Stadium for our Evening with the Talksport Presenters featuring morning show regulars Ally McCoist and Dean Saunders, and Drivetime’s vocal character Darren Gough.
These three are bound to serve up an hilarious night of cracking sporting banter to get everyone in the mood for the Festivities! Our November event is the perfect opportunity to entertain key clients or enjoy a night out with colleagues in the run-up to Christmas. With a delicious three course dinner to enjoy, and a night of sporting chat with three legends of the airwaves, our host Sky Sports Presenter Pete Graves will ensure the evening goes with a swing!
Ally McCoist: One of the most prolific British strikers of all-time, Ally scored over 400 goals during a career spanning over two decades and almost 800 appearances in all club and international formats. A bona fide Rangers legend, he was part of the dominant team at Ibrox which brought home the Scottish Premier League title in 10 out of 11 seasons from 1986-1997, also winning the Scottish League Cup nine time during his 15 years at the club. He represented Scotland on 61 occasions, scoring 19 times, making him his country’s fifth highest goal-scorer in history, featuring in the 1990 World Cup and Euro ’92 and ’96. Between 1996 and 2007, he was a team captain in the BBC sports quiz A Question of Sport, before becoming assistant to Walter Smith at Rangers. He succeeded Smith in 2011, before guiding the club though its darkest period following liquidation and demotion, taking the club back from the fourth to the second tier with successive promotions. Ally is now a Talksport regular on the morning show with Alan Brazil.
Darren Gough: Throughout the 1990s and early 2000s Yorkshire legend Darren Gough was more often than not the spearhead of England’s bowling attack, his whole-hearted displays attracting plaudits from colleagues across the sport. Prolific in all forms of the game, ‘Goughie’ took over 200 wickets in both Test and One Day formats, with 229 Test victims at an impressive 28.39 average, and 235 ODI wickets at 26.42, making him the second highest England ODI wicket-taker. He also made useful contributions with the bat including 855 Test runs, with a best of 65. Rarely without an opinion on sporting matters, Goughie is a regular presenter on Talksport, where his partnership with Adrian Durham on the afternoon Drivetime show, is one of the station’s most popular slots. He has also demonstrated his dancing skills to great effect, winning the 2005 series of Strictly Come Dancing with partner Lilia Kopylova. We are delighted to welcome Goughie back!
Dean Saunders: A familiar sight to fans in the 80s & 90s, Dean played in the top flight for over a decade. A prolific goal-scorer, Dean was capped 75 times for Wales, scoring 22 goals, making him one of the country’s most-capped and highest goal-scorers of all-time. Incredibly, Dean scored almost 300 times in all competitions at club level, a record which puts him up with the very best strikers of his era. He became a British record transfer in 1991 following his move from Derby to Liverpool for £2.9m, before a move to Villa Park 14 months later, where he went on to become a firm favourite with fans, representing the club with distinction for three seasons before moving to Galatasaray. In all he played for twelve clubs as a pro, in a career spanning almost 20 years, and was one of the star pundits on the BBC during Wales’ incredible run to the semi-finals at Euro 2016. Like Ally, Dean is now a regular on Talksport’s morning show with Alan Brazil.
Pete Graves: A passionate Newcastle United fan, Pete has enjoyed a swift rise through the broadcasting ranks to become one of the most recognisable faces on Sky Sports. After leaving university, Pete started his broadcasting career with the hospital radio show Radio Tyneside, before working in the local Metro Radio, and then ITV Tyneside as a sports reporter. Since 2009 he has worked at Sky Sports, mainly as a presenter, where his passion for football and knowledge of the game are amongst his greatest assets. Over the past few years Pete has become a great asset as a regular host of our events, and we are delighted to have him as always!
Edgbaston Stadium: We are delighted to be holding our event in the Banqueting Suite at Edgbaston Stadium, which is a fantastic large facility, perfectly suited to our event. This is the stadium’s premium pitch-facing facility, enjoying magnificent views over the middle, and plenty of natural light. Our guests will enjoy quality dining and service for which Edgbaston is rightly renowned, with ample complimentary parking for all attendees.
