The Lionesses have captivated the hearts of the nation over the last two years, with their scintillating Euro 2022 triumph at Wembley, before becoming runners-up at the 2023 World Cup in Australia with a narrow defeat to Spain in the final.
The players have inspired huge amounts of children across the country to take up the great game and participation rates amongst women playing the game are at a record high. The players have also taken the popularity of women’s football to a new level with attendances increasing dramatically for Lionesses matches and the Women’s Super League.
We were recently joined by two of the Lionesses World cup team, the fantastic Alessia Russo, the Lionesses star striker, and key defender and Barcelona superstar, Lucy Bronze, and to complete a fabulous panel, England’s longest serving captain and TV pundit, Faye White. Following a fabulous lunch, and with the complimentary bar in full flow, guests were treated to an inspirational interview and Q & A session, hearing stories of a remarkable couple of years for the Lionesses.
