On the day of England’s second Euro 2024 fixture Gala Events hosted a Euro 2024 Big Screen Event in the fantastic 175 Suite at the Oval cricket ground. The event featured special guests Jermain Defoe, Kevin Keegan and John Barnes who each in turn regaled the audience with a selection of fascinating stories from their careers in football and in particular their eventful careers with England in past World Cups and European Championships. There were several hilarious stories from the stars, who between them have 199 caps and 51 goals, and the atmosphere in the room was superb throughout!

On the chances of the current England team our guests discussed the attacking talent at the managers disposal, who the key players are, including Jude Bellingham’s remarkable rise at Real Madrid, and how they felt England would grow into the tournament. They also briefly discussed the other main threats in the competition, who they thought the other contenders were for the title and which star players they thought would be the ones to watch.

Along with the incredibly interesting and entertaining football chat, sporting hospitality of the highest standard was on offer, with the food and drink particularly on point and a terrific atmosphere created by our special guests our host for the event, Sky Sports’ Pete Graves and opera singer Emily Haig!

Guests attending our London Euro 2024 Big Screen Event then took in England’s second Euros group game, as the national team played Denmark looking to win and confirm qualification in first place to the knockout stages of this enthralling and important international competition.

After the match, which finished with a 1-1 draw and Harry Kane scoring the goal, the guests discussed the performance and how England can look to improve as they continue in the competition. The draw having almost certainly confirmed England’s progress as they head into the final fixture.
