Premier League Darts: From the Drama of 2025 to the Stars of 2026
The Premier League Darts continues to deliver some of the most intense, entertaining nights in the sporting calendar, and the 2025 season was no exception. After 16 weeks of elite competition across Europe, the roadshow reached its thrilling conclusion at Finals Night at The O2 Arena, where the very best battled for one of darts’ most coveted titles.
As the sport now looks ahead to Premier League Darts 2026, fans are already buzzing about the confirmed player line-up, emerging rivalries, and another season of packed arenas, nine-darters, and unforgettable moments.
Premier League Darts 2025: An Unforgettable Season
The 2025 Premier League Darts season culminated on 29 May at The O2 Arena, following months of world-class arrows from eight of the sport’s elite. Week after week, sold-out crowds were treated to explosive scoring, dramatic finishes, and relentless pressure.
Luke Littler was the standout performer across the league phase. The teenage sensation dominated the competition with six nightly wins and a record-breaking 45 points, lighting up arenas with fearless scoring, multiple nine-darters, and extraordinary consistency.
Close behind was Luke Humphries, whose calm, clinical approach saw him secure second place with three nightly wins. Gerwyn Price hit top form when it mattered most to finish third, while Nathan Aspinall edged out the chasing pack to claim fourth and the final Finals Night spot. That meant heartbreak for Michael van Gerwen, Rob Cross, Chris Dobey, and Stephen Bunting, all of whom produced flashes of brilliance but narrowly missed out.
Finals Night at The O2: A Classic Conclusion
Finals Night delivered everything fans hoped for. Littler overcame Price 10–7 in a semi-final played against a raucous backdrop, while Humphries produced a composed performance to defeat Aspinall in the other last-four clash.
The final itself was a battle of momentum. Littler surged into a 3–0 lead, but Humphries stayed patient, gradually asserting control and punishing missed chances. In the end, Luke Humphries claimed an 11–8 victory, lifting the Premier League trophy for the first time and completing darts’ prestigious Triple Crown, adding the title to his World Championship and World Matchplay wins.
A remarkable finish to a remarkable season.

RESULTS: Night One – Utilita Arena, Newcastle - Thursday 5 February 2026
The 2026 BetMGM Premier League season began in thrilling fashion in Newcastle, where Michael van Gerwen laid down an early marker with victory on the opening night.
The Dutchman produced a clinical display to defeat debutant Gian van Veen 6–4 in an all-Dutch final, securing the £10,000 nightly prize and the first five points of the campaign. Van Gerwen admitted he was not yet at his absolute best but proved ruthless on the doubles when it mattered most.
Van Gerwen’s route to the title was emphatic. After falling 2–0 behind to Stephen Bunting in the quarter-finals, he reeled off six straight legs to win 6–2. He then dismantled reigning champion Luke Humphries 6–2 in the semi-finals, landing six of seven attempts at double in a dominant performance.
Van Veen impressed hugely on his Premier League debut. He edged world champion Luke Littler 6–4 in the quarter-finals, a repeat of the recent World Championship final — before overcoming 2021 champion Jonny Clayton by the same scoreline in the semi-finals. However, he came up just short against a more clinical Van Gerwen in the decider.
For Van Gerwen, it was an important early statement after missing out on Finals Night last season, only the second time in 13 attempts he had failed to reach the season climax.
Quarter-Finals
- Josh Rock 2–6 Jonny Clayton
- Luke Littler 4–6 Gian van Veen
- Luke Humphries 6–5 Gerwyn Price
- Stephen Bunting 2–6 Michael van Gerwen
Semi-Finals
- Jonny Clayton 4–6 Gian van Veen
- Luke Humphries 2–6 Michael van Gerwen
Final
- Michael van Gerwen 6–4 Gian van Veen
RESULTS: Night Two – AFAS Dome, Antwerp - Thursday 12 February 2026
The Premier League made history with its first-ever visit to Belgium, and 10,000 fans at the AFAS Dome were treated to a dramatic evening as Gerwyn Price claimed the nightly title.
Price ended Van Gerwen’s unbeaten start to the season with a commanding 6–3 victory in the final. Despite spectacular finishes of 167 and 160 from Van Gerwen, the Welshman was the sharper and more consistent player throughout the decider.
The night began with a blockbuster clash between Littler and Humphries. Both players averaged over 100 and struck seven 180s apiece, but missed doubles proved costly — 28 between them. Humphries led 4–1 but faltered on the outer ring, allowing Littler to complete a remarkable comeback and seal a 6–5 victory.
Comebacks were the theme of the quarter-finals. Clayton recovered from 4–0 down to beat Stephen Bunting 6–4, while Price fought back from 3–1 and 4–2 deficits to edge Van Veen 6–5.
Price then survived another last-leg thriller in the semi-finals, defeating Clayton 6–5 in a high-quality encounter. His resilience under pressure set up a second successive final for Van Gerwen, who had earlier beaten Littler 6–4 with a much-improved display, including a 10-dart leg.
However, in the Antwerp final it was Price who controlled proceedings, confirming his strong recent form and securing his first nightly win of the 2026 campaign.
After two nights, Van Gerwen sits at the top of the early standings with a win and a runner-up finish, while Price’s victory ensures the table is already beginning to take shape, though with 14 weeks remaining, the race to Finals Night is only just beginning.
