An Evening with Michael Owen

The ex Liverpool, Real Madrid and England striker was the star guest at our evening with Michael Owen dinner event in the Great Hall at the delightful Alverton Manor in Truro. England’s ‘boy wonder’ might be in his 40s now but he still has all the enthusiasm for the game he showed when bursting onto the scene with Liverpool aged just 17 before lighting up the World Cup the following season with THAT goal against Argentina. After a fantastic three course dinner served by the Alverton’s superb team our evening with Michael Owen, the main man joined our popular and engaging Sky Sports host Pete Graves on the stage for almost an hour discussing the triumphs, trials and tribulations of his career at the top with some of the world’s biggest clubs. Topics included his burst on to the scene with Liverpool and again with England, especially that incredible World Cup goal! His time at Real Madrid and Manchester United were also discussed. Always fantastically at ease with our guests, Michael even stayed on for a couple of after hours pints with our lucky Speaker Sponsor table, a true gentleman and entertainer on and off the pitch!
