London Gold Cup Lunch 2020

Our final event in London before Covid lockdown was our London Gold Cup Lunch featuring all the action from Cheltenham Gold Cup day!

We were joined by former Watford, Liverpool and England wing wizard John Barnes and England’s record-breaking spinner and multiple Ashes-winning hero Graeme Swann. Our live Irish band got everyone in the party mood, with the complimentary bar proving a big hit, and following lunch guests were treated to some fantastic tales from the careers of two of England’s best-loved sporting legends. Graeme Swann entertained with his cricketing stories with Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire and England and John Barnes from his colourful career with Liverpool and the three lions. Our regular tipster, Grand National winning jockey Brendan Powell, was in good form giving guests a couple of winners including the favourite in the big one! With plenty of bets laid by our in-room bookmakers, many guests cheered home Al Boum Photo to a memorable second triumph consecutive triumph in the Cheltenham Gold Cup!
