Birmingham Gold Cup Lunch 2022

Our annual Birmingham Gold Cup Lunch at Edgbaston is a feast of sport as we are joined by sporting legends to witness the best day of Jumps racing of the year! In 2022 we were joined by twice European Footballer of the Year, England striker and former England manager, Kevin Keegan. With bookmakers in the room, racing tips from Grand National-winning former jockey Brendan Powell, live music from our Irish band, a three course dinner and loads of football and racing chat, this is always one of our favourite events of the year! Our Sky Sports host Dave Fulton always does a great job making sure the event goes with a swing!

The racing from Cheltenham, beamed on our giant screen, didn’t disappoint as the Cheltenham Gold Cup was won in thrilling fashion by the 3-1 favourite A Plus Tard, ridden by Rachel Blackmore, who became the first female jockey to achieve the feat. With three other favourites going in across the seven race card, the in-room bookies were paying out hand over fist to many lucky clients in the room! It was great to hear from Kevin Keegan, who over the years has done many events for us but still finds new stories to tell from his long and glittering career as a player and manager, and he had everyone at enthralled at this years’ Birmingham Gold Cup Lunch!
