Celebrity Golf Classic 2026

A spectacular day of celebrity golf hospitality at one of England’s most iconic links courses

On 4 September 2026, Gala Events welcomed guests to our Celebrity Golf Classic 2026 at the prestigious Royal Liverpool Golf Club in Hoylake – and what a day it was! With clear skies and beautiful conditions, our guests were able to make the most of this incredible links course, enjoying the stunning surroundings while taking on one of England’s most famous golfing tests. The day included plenty of friendly competition, including our Longest Drive competition, which added a little extra excitement to an already memorable round.

Royal Liverpool certainly provided some challenges along the way. The famous 13th hole, Alps, is a particularly tricky par 3, with its deceptive green and surrounding mounds, while the closing holes demand accuracy and careful course management.

Golfing Alongside Sporting Legends

Adding to the experience were our two fantastic celebrity guests, Les Ferdinand and Graeme Swann. Les Ferdinand is one of the Premier League’s great goalscorers, scoring 149 Premier League goals during an outstanding career with clubs including QPR, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur. Graeme Swann brought his own sporting pedigree to the day. The former England off-spinner was a key member of three Ashes-winning teams and famously took the wicket that sealed England’s 2009 Ashes victory. Having the opportunity to play golf, share stories and enjoy some friendly competition alongside sporting personalities made the day particularly special for our guests.

An Evening of Stories, Dinner & Entertainment

After a fantastic day on the course, guests headed to Thornton Hall Hotel & Spa for a special celebrity gala dinner. The evening was a great opportunity to relax, enjoy a delicious dinner and hear first-hand stories from both Les and Graeme about their sporting careers. From Les’s experiences playing at the highest level of English football to Graeme’s Ashes memories and life as an international cricketer, both speakers provided plenty of entertaining stories, laughs and behind-the-scenes insight from their time at the top of their respective sports. With great food, excellent company and two brilliant speakers, it was the perfect way to round off a memorable celebrity golf and corporate hospitality experience.
