Gala Events, the sports hospitality and corporate entertainment company, have announced their line-up of bespoke corporate events for the first half of 2014. After a hugely successful 2013, which saw the likes of Harry Redknapp, Carl Froch, Jimmy Anderson, Steve Bruce and Lewis Moody entertaining clients in a series of superb venues, the calendar for 2014 is already crammed with a host of top class events.
A Cheltenham Gold Cup Lunch is being held at Edgbaston Cricket Ground in Birmingham on Friday 14th March, at which clients will be able to enjoy all the action on the big screen, in the company of former footballers Matt Le Tissier and Steve Claridge, both of who are keen followers of National Hunt racing. As well as all the usual trimmings there will also be a Ladbrokes betting facility on site so you and your clients can enjoy a punt, with help from our in house tipster.
Moving in to May, our second ever ‘Lunch with a Legend’ takes place at the Oval Cricket Ground on Wednesday 21st May; current Sri Lankan superstar and all-time great batsman Mahela Jayawardene, and Yorkshire and England legend Darren Gough, will both be on hand to discuss their careers, the current state of play in the game, and anything else that host Jonathan ‘Aggers’ Agnew can tease out of them. This is a great opportunity to entertain clients in the company of cricketing royalty in the ‘Long Room’, where top class catering and service are guaranteed.
Our annual golf event this year is the Kevin Keegan Golf Classic, which offers clients the chance to play not one but two Open courses in two days, in the company of former England footballer and manager Kevin Keegan. Following a light lunch on Tuesday 27th May, clients will be able to play a round on Royal St George’s, which has hosted the Open on no less than 13 occasions, most recently in 2011 when Darren Clarke famously triumphed. A Gala Dinner takes place in the evening, with our special guest Mr Keegan entertaining guests with hilarious tales from his career as a superstar player, and national team manager. Following overnight accommodation at the 4 star Prince’s Lodge, guests will then play a round on the Prince’s course, home of the 1932 Open. This is an event not be missed by golf fans, with the winner of the Classic receiving a superb trophy from Kevin Keegan.
Moving forward to Tuesday 3rd June, the crucial 5th One Day International between England and Sri Lanka takes place at Edgbaston, and we have booked a facility for our clients to enjoy a superb lunch, and the match, in the company of former England stars Phil Tufnell and Paul Nixon. Both Phil and Paul are hilarious entertainment, and cricket lovers are in for a treat both on and off the pitch.
Later in June all the excitement of the World Cup kicks off, and we have two superb World Cup Big Screen Events running concurrently in London and Birmingham, at which clients will be able to enjoy a thrilling T20 county cricket clash, before settling down to watch England play Uruguay on the big screen in a crucial World Cup group match in the company of star guests. At The Oval, clients will be able to watch Middlesex take on Somerset in the Friends Life T20, following a superb three course lunch, before watching the football in the company of our Speaker for the day, England’s legendary full back Stuart Pearce. Up in Birmingham, Warwickshire will be taking on Northamptonshire in the same competition at Edgbaston, before the England v Uruguay clash, with four ‘Midlands Legends’ in residence, including former WBA and England star Cyrille Regis and recently retired Wolves goalkeeper and current Sky Sports summariser, Matt Murray.
Gala Events will be adding more superb dates in the diary as the year progresses, as well as providing top class hospitality packages at all major sporting, theatre and music events, including the Six Nations, The Open Golf, British/Monaco Grand Prix, Cheltenham Race Festival, Wimbledon, Test Cricket and Premier League football.
