Gala Events announce a cracking line-up for early 2016!

As we move into 2016, Gala Events is delighted to announce our line-up of bespoke events for the next six months or so. We have a range of events to suit all tastes, you can be confident that your clients, colleagues and friends will be impressed with an invitation to whatever event takes your fancy.

Our first big event of the year is our annual Cheltenham Gold Cup Lunch at Edgbaston, which takes place on Friday March 18th to coincide with the biggest day at the Festival. We will be joined this year by Liverpool and Match of the Day stalwart Mark Lawrenson, and former Arsenal and England winger Paul Merson. With coverage of the entire card at the Festival on our giant screen, live music from our Irish band, bookmakers and a SKY Sports tipster in the room, and a delicious three course lunch, this a fun-packed day of sport and entertainment not to be missed!

Another regular favourite, this year’s Gala Golf Classic moves to Woburn Golf Club on 26-27 May, home of the British Masters. This is a real treat for any golf fan, with the opportunity to play the Championship course and walk the same fairways which have been trodden by the greats of the game. Our VIP guests this year are two former internationals, and current football pundits: ex Wales, Arsenal, West Ham and Celtic striker John Hartson, and Premier League winner and former Blackburn Rovers, Norwich and Celtic striker Chris Sutton. With accommodation at the Double Tree Hilton nearby, and a Gala Dinner in the evening, this will be a cracker.

With the Euro 2016 Championships almost upon us, we are delighted to be running a trio of events around the country to coincide with the crucial clash between England and Wales on Thursday 16 June. All three events will feature a superb three course lunch, VIP football guest speakers, giant screen coverage of the match, and much more! In London, we will be in the Nursery Pavilion at Lords for an action packed day: Our special guests are England’s Euro ’96 icon Stuart Pearce, arguably England’s greatest left back, and representing Wales is prolific hitman Dean Saunders, two players who played against each other on many occasions. The package also includes tickets to see the thrilling T20 clash between Sussex and Middlesex, featuring numerous internationals. In Birmingham we will be in the Garden Suite at the Botanical Gardens in Edgbaston, with four very special Midlands football guests including Blues’ club captain Paul Robinson, Wolves’ legendary striker Steve Bull, and Villa and Ireland icon Steve Staunton. In Southampton we will be at St Mary’s Stadium for the big match, and to jointly celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the home town club’s famous FA Cup triumph. Our special guests will be two of the players on that great day, Nick Holmes and man-of-the-match Jim Steele, and striker James Beattie, who played in the 2003 Final.

Our annual cricketing Lunch in the Long Room at Lords is a firm favourite in our calendar, and will be held on 30 June. The quality of service and food in the Long Room is of the very highest quality, we will be joined by Aussie paceman Peter Siddle, English counterpart Matthew Hoggard, and a current England international to be announced. Our guests will be discussing the summer of cricket, with plenty of Anglo-Australian banter to savour. The Long Room is the most famous venue in the world of cricket, with fantastic artwork and stunning views out over the middle. With a complimentary bar and live singing from stunningly talented soprano Amelia Whiteman, we guarantee that you and your guests will be delighted.

On the 8 July we are delighted to welcome our old friend Kevin Keegan to the magnificent Parade Ring Restaurant at Ascot for a cracking afternoon of racing and football banter. After a superb lunch, followed by a brilliantly entertaining speech from the great man, there is a full card to enjoy out on the track. A complimentary bar is included to help the day go with a swing, with great views from our private balcony over the Parade Ring and beyond.

To complete a packed first half of the year we welcome Harry Redknapp down to the VIP Pavilion at Truro School on 15 July for a cracking Sporting Dinner. Should you fancy travelling down to Cornwall for this event, we can organise hotels and transport should they be required.

We also have hospitality available at all major sporting events over the coming months including the Six Nations, Cheltenham, Wimbledon, Royal Ascot, Henley Regatta and Test/ODI cricket, to name a few.
